The Virtual World and the Future of the Digital World

The Virtual World and the Future of the Digital World

Three years ago, I wrote an important piece about the virtual world and the future of the digital realm—in its first and second parts. Today, we will discuss the third part and what we are expected to witness in the coming years within our world.

The more you understand this world, the more you will be able to benefit from its advantages and reduce its dangers. We’ll go straight to the point.

We begin with something that will appeal to the female gender: in the future, you will find homes fully designed by artificial intelligence. Your food will be prepared, your clothes washed and ironed without you touching them. The house will clean itself entirely. Even hairstyles and clothing choices will be selected by AI—all through voice commands.

When you are alone, you won’t need to visit a friend. There will be a dedicated hologram corner in your home where your friend appears, allowing you to talk for hours as if they were physically with you.

You will see many driverless vehicles that take you to preselected destinations, using roads built specifically for them. These roads and bridges will be suspended in the sky and integrated into buildings.

In the future, marriage to robots may become normal and common. If a person cannot find what they want in a partner, one will be fully designed according to their taste. More deeply, some robots may even have the ability to carry pregnancies—as vessels for embryos.

Diseases will disappear, potentially reaching zero. The human body will be placed in a solution that restores youth and erases all illnesses. Lifespans will increase, and illness will become a myth.

Writing your thoughts directly from your mind will become normal. If you are a highly intellectual, air-type thinker, you might write a book every few days this way.

Watching your dreams after waking up will become normal—like watching a movie.

In the distant future, buildings will float in the sky. The secret of flight and suspension will be revealed—a secret once known to ancient civilizations.

Money is the one thing I am not fully certain about: digital, implanted chips, or even a unit of time—similar to the movie In Time.

Prisons will become digital. If you break the law, the system won’t need to imprison you physically—only mentally, within a digital world, like Black Mirror, or much like the reality we already live in.

The concept of traditional schools and universities will be abolished. A lecturer may be in another country, teaching you holographically as if present with you.

Finally, living standards will be divided based on wealth. You will no longer buy things outright; instead, you will subscribe to a certain level of living—which includes housing, health, education, and food.
